I am a teaching in a Catholic School. The intermediate children plan an Advent Service in which we read out of the Bible, share stories from home, sing, and share a book which contains a special meaning of Christmas. Each year we turn to incorporate a service project in which the children
take part. This year we read the "Christmas Jar" book to the children. The students have chosen to put in their spare change, birthday money, allowance, and even one child donated money they found on the street. We have collected around $320 so far. On Thursday, our sixth grade class will go to Walmart to purchase gifts for a needy family. The rest of the students will wrap them and make cards for the family. We are also collecting food and clothing for this family. It has really touched the hearts of the children and families at our school. The book was a real inspiration to our school and the students here.
